Support Worker
A rewarding opportunity exists for experienced Support Workers to join our Client Services team at Guide Dogs Queensland, based at our head office in Bald Hills.
These casual roles are instrumental in delivering person-centered life-skills, recreation, community access and potentially in-home support to Guide Dogs Queensland clients. These positions require availability to work in the afternoons and overnight.
Reporting to the Pathways Practice Leader, this position is also responsible for:
- Report writing which includes gathering and presenting client feedback.
- Assist funded clients with activities in and around their home and in the community.
- Provide support to programs and activities delivered onsite.
- Provide supervision and support for adults, young people and children whilst residing at Guide Dogs Queensland.
- Provide support and assistance with meal preparation and orientation to the environment.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Availability to work afternoons and overnights
- A current First Aid certificate
- An open driver’s license
- Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Previous work experience working with people with disabilities or vision impairment is highly desirable.
- Well-developed communication skills
